History
William Armstrong Public School was named after Captain Wm. Armstrong (1792-1878), an early Markham resident who was active in many aspects of local development such as roads, agriculture, land and schooling.
Our school motto is “Service to Others.”
A William Armstrong student designed our school mascot in 2002. Our mascot characterizes an athletic creature, which depicts energy and enthusiasm.
Facilities
William Armstrong P.S. was officially opened in 1967.
The outdoor facilities include a baseball diamond, soccer fields, a basketball court and a playground.
A before and after school child-care centre, owned and operated by Upper Canada Creative Daycare is located at William Armstrong P.S.
